Say bye-bye to super dry skin!

Hey people!

At the end of last December, I got a really bad skin allergy (called 'hives' aka welts). It was pretty bad with super itchy bumps and swelling of face, arms etc. I'm gonna skip the details and the story! As a side effect of using face ointments on my face, pimples and acne happened! I have never in my whole life faced anything like acne. I took acne medicines and used a medicated cream for 2 weeks, but still it didn't help the sebum and stuff.

So then, someone recommended me Himalaya's Purifying Neem Face Wash. It helped a lot! After using it for a few weeks my acne was pretty much gone!

But Alas! the acne scars and dryness remained. Dry patches near eyes, lips, nose etc. I tried to massage in Coconut Oil, Olive Oil and honey before washing my face. I tried cleansing instead of using face-wash. I used Nivea's Soft cream afterwards. Nothing helped! And on the top of that, I usually had to wash my face  three times with face wash if I had been outdoors. I sometimes, didn't even wash my face as I was afraid of dryness so much. I even tried using Vaseline on dry patches...

I was about to give up, but then, this idea pop-ed in to my mind. I present you my ultimate dryness killing weapons!

I know, I know, what all of you are thinking, they are the same ones I just mentioned and they didn't help.
Well, here's my little trick:

I wash my face and then dry it up. Then I mix a tiny bit of Nivea Soft cream and a tiny bit of Vaseline together on my palm and then massage it on to my face. Do it before going to bed. Then in morning wash your face as you normally would (I use Himalaya Purifying Neem Facewash). And use any moisturizer. I use the one pictured below for day time.

Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturizer

Note:
  • My skin type: Dry (in winters) & Combo (in summers). Not really acne-prone.
  • I still haven't found anything to help the acne scars.
  • Why this trick works? here's my theory: The actual weapon that works awesomely here is Vaseline. When used alone, I found it super sticky and thus not really spreading on to my face/skin. With lotion/cream its texture gets changed and it applies more smoothly & equally.
  • I use Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturizer not very often, as it is not readily available and is kind of expensive compared to lotions and creams we get from stores here. It is no doubt, my favorite as it is not scented.
  • And be sure to get the original Vaseline and not cheap knock-offs.
